SATA tape drive connected to a Windows Server 2008 x64 Bit Media Server is not detected during an IDR (Intelligent Disaster Recovery) restore.

A SATA tape drive connected to a Windows 2008 x64 Bit Media Server is not detected after selecting the "Use locally attached media device" in the "Select Restore Method" window in the IDR Restore Wizard.

"No device was detected that is capable of restoring the following data" error message appear in the "Required Device Not Found" window.

Solution



Work-around:
 
Perform a manual disaster recovery of the machine instead.
 

Solution:

This issue has been resolved in Backup Exec 2010.R2 and above.
