The Backup Exec debug log 'beremote.log' will report the following:

Cause



Backup Exec will error during enumeration if a severe SQL issue exists on the SQL Back End server.

To Confirm:

1. Place all servers in debugging and re-attempt enumeration of the SharePoint Farm.
2. Clear ALL Windows Application and System Events on the Backup Server, MOSS Server and SQL Server
3. On the SQL Server Rename the most recent SQL error log file 'ERRORLOG' within the directory (Default): 
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.x\MSSQL\LOG
4. Re-attempt enumeration
5. Examine the Windows Application Event Logs on ALL Servers in the Farm in correlation with the SQL Error Log
