Backup or Restore of Exchange fails after migrating the ID used by Backup Exec to another Exchange Version.


Error



V-79-57344-766 - Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials. Review the resource credentials for the job, and then run the job again.

Solution



Condition:
Multiple Exchange Versions in the Environment.
 

    Example.
      Migration of Exchange 2003 to 2007
      Migration of Exchange 2007 to 2010



Solution:
The ID being used for Backup or Restore of Exchange must reside in the Exchange version the backup/restore is occurring on.
If Exchange is being migrated from one Exchange version to another, you will need an ID setup on each Exchange environment.

Create an ID on the Exchange environment that has all the needed rights.
