Issue

During backup to deduplication folder job fails with error : S_TF_NO_TAPE_PRESENT

(this is a valid error for deduplication backups even though it states "tape".)

Error

S_TF_NO_TAPE_PRESENT

Environment

Running deduplication job in debug mode returned the second error in the Storaged.Log file.

(Location: <deduplicationstoragedrive>\storage\log\spoold\storaged.log)

July 11 15:26:37 ERR [0000000017540360]: -
1: The queue processing delay of 38.61 days is at or above the critical level of
30 days. This means that the queue of the CR has grown too large and the CR may
become full. The CR will no longer accept new backup data until the delay has
returned to a value below the critical level. Please contact support.

Cause

The debug logs indicate that the deduplication queue processing is not taking place. This is due to a queue processing delay situation encountered, where no new data can be written until the delay passes or is cleared.

Solution

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2010 R2 Hotfix 138226 (TECH138226)
