Queues are being flooded with "Itemnotfoundexception" and similar items.

When you deletes a package when agents still have the package, it creates a problem where the clients, as by design, will continue to report status on that item until it is automatically deleted after the set time. Each package can be configured differently as to when the package will be deleted once no policy requires it (default is 1 week).

All policies for a package should be switched off and then the delete package duration, default 1 week, needs to be met. While this isn't the most convenient method, it will allow each client to delete the package before the actual package on the Notification Server is deleted. This will dramatically lower the volume sent from each individual client.

If the problem has already occurred, read article 3861, "Itemnotfound exceptions filling the queues," for assistance in resolving the issue.
