This aplies to environments that contain more than one installed versions of a Symantec Mail Security product. For example, Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform (SMSfDOM MPE) 3.2.x and Symantec Mail Security for Domino Multi-Platform (SMSfDOM) 8.0.x. In this mixed environment it is necessary to verify that an installation of LiveUpdate Administrator version 2.x (LUA 2.x) will provide virus definitions for all of the versions that are installed.
Please note that SMSfDOM is only taken as an example in this case and this applies to all Symantec Mail Security products that are capable of using the LiveUpdate Administrator product to collect their definitions.
It is within the functionality of LiveUpdate Administrator 2.x to provide virus definitions for multiple versions of the same Mail Security product when configured to do so.
To add products to the My Symantec Products list, click the Configure tab, and on the My Symantec Products window, click Add New Products. Be sure to create the necessary Download and Distribution jobs for all desired product versions.
