This Release Update provides fixes for Symantec NetBackup (tm) OpsCenter for
UNIX servers.

PACK DEPENDENCIES
=================

    -- Symatentec OpsCenter 7.0 must be installed before this you install this
       Release Update.

    -- Check the NetBackup OpsCenter Administrator's Guide for a list of the
       supported operating systems (OS), OS dependencies, and support issues.

I. DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS
========================

1) Download the OpsCtr_<Server|Agent>_7.0.1_<platform>.tar file into a local
  /tmp directory.


2) Extract the OpsCtr_<Server|Agent>_7.0.1_<platform>.tar file.

  That creates the following directory which contains the installation scripts:    

     OpsCtr_<Server|Agent>_7.0.1_<platform>

     where <platform> is: solaris, solaris_x86, hpia64, linuxR_x86, and
     linuxS_x86

3) The AIX platform is available as a full package. To retrieve that package,
  download the following file into the /tmp directory.

     OpsCtr_7.0.1_AIX64.tar

4) Extract the OpsCtr_<Server|Agent>_7.0.1_<platform>.tar file.

     That creates the following directory which contains the installation
     scripts:

     OpsCtr_7.0.1_AIX64

II. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
=============================

Before you install this Release Update, please review the following items:


 - Symantec recommends that you install OpsCenter on a dedicated server.

 - Symatentec OpsCenter 7.0 must be installed and running.

   For more information about OpsCenter, refer to the NetBackup OpsCenter
   Administrator's Guide on the Symantec Support Web site:

To install this Release Update as root on the server:

1) Install the OpsCtr_Server_7.0.1_<platform> Release Update binaries.
 
  - cd /tmp/OpsCtr_Server_7.0.1_<platform>/ServerPatch

  - Run the installOpsCenterServerPatch script, for example:

      OpsCtr_Server_7.0.1_linuxS_x86/ServerPatch/installOpsCenterServerPatch

2)  Install OpsCtr_Agent_7.0.1_<platform> Release Update binaries.
 
  - cd /tmp/OpsCtr_Agent_7.0.1_<platform>/AgentPatch

  - Run the installOpsCenterAgentPatch script, for example:

      OpsCtr_Agent_7.0.1_solaris/AgentPatch/installOpsCenterAgentPatch

3)  Install the OpsCtr_7.0.1_AIX64 full package.
 
  - cd /tmp/OpsCtr_7.0.1_AIX64/Server

  - Run the installOpsCenterServer script, for example:

     OpsCtr_7.0.1_AIX64/Server/installOpsCenterServer

 the NetBackup OpsCenter Administrator's Guide, available on the Symantec
 Support Web site.

To install this Release Update in a UNIX Cluster Environment:

1) Before you install this Release Update, make sure that Symantec OpsCenter is
  at release level 7.0 and configured to run in a cluster.

2) Freeze the cluster by following the procedures outlined in the
   "NetBackup High Availability Guide."

3) Install this Release Update on the inactive node(s) of the cluster first.
  (Perform the steps in the, "To install this Release Update as root on the
   OpsCenter Server" procedure).

4) Install this Release Update on the active node of the cluster.
  (Again, perform the steps in the, "To install this Release Update as root
   on the OpsCenter Server" procedure).

5) Unfreeze the cluster by following the procedure outlined in the "NetBackup
  High Availability Guide."

6) If the cluster is in a faulted state, clear the fault.

III. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
===========================

Note: This procedure ONLY uninstalls the Release Update from your local machine.


To uninstall OpsCenter:
-----------------------

1) Uninstall the server.

   - Run the following un-install scripts:

    ./opt/VRTS/install/Ops701/uninstallOpsCenterServerPatch
    ./opt/VRTS/install/uninstallOpsCenterServer for AIX full package.

2) Uninstall the Agent.

  - Run the un-install script:

     ./opt/VRTS/install/OpsAgent701/uninstallopscenteragent

3) Check the Opscenter Services and version information in log on page to verify
  that the Release Update uninstalled successfully:

./opt/SYMCOpsCenterServer/bin/opsadmin.sh monitor


--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To uninstall this Release Update in a UNIX cluster environment:

1) Freeze the cluster to prevent failover during the uninstall.

2) Uninstall this Release Update on the inactive node(s) of the cluster first.

3) Uninstall this Release Update on the active node of the cluster.

4) If the cluster is in a faulted state, clear the fault.

5) Be sure to uninstall both client and server updates on each node before you
  proceed to the next step.

6) Unfreeze the cluster.
