Problem
After the deployment of a PCT 6.5 personality package, the System32 folder is displayed on the target machine. Another symptom of this problem is the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run has keys that only contain the first letter of what they really should contain.
For example:
On the old PC under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, you would see
CTHelper CTHELPER.EXE
But when it's migrated on the new system all you see is:
CTHelper C
Environment
PCT 6.5.1027
Cause
This is an error in the code that was introduced due to the change that was made to work with Unicode.
Solution
The workaround for the moment is to not include the Taskbar as part of your migration with PCT 6.5.1027. This can be changed in the template under the Desktop tab > Windows Shell.
These has been fixed in PC Transplant 6.5 Hotfix 27623.
