DOCUMENTATION: Issues resolved in the EEB package for Storage Lifecycle Policies (SLP) and disk expiration (DSSU) in NetBackup 6.5.6 included in ETrack 2073042

Solution

The following issues are addressed in the EEB (Emergency Engineering Binary) replacement package for storage lifecycle policies (SLP) available by contacting Symantec technical support and referencing this document ID and Etrack 2073042:

(ET1996184)
Expiration Manager loses connection to EMM.  1000001 Invalid connection ID.

(ET2016797) ExpMgr catch exceptions when DSM could timeout and have the threads finish what was started.  (Overloaded System)

(ET1996957) Encountering an occasional Status 12 messages during SLP duplications.

(ET1999892) SLP: A number of images are stuck in LIFECYCLE STATE=1 from previous SLP backups.

(ET1975674) Post nbstserv recovery logic takes a long time after NBU restart

(ET2126762) SLP Duplications failing, PD Storage Pools reaching FULL threshold, many SLP dups remaining in incomplete state across several SLP versions.

Description

Requesting EEB for ET1996184 for 6.5.6 - expmgr connection failure leads to no HWM pass one expiration; pass two takes over and image expiration is efficient but leaves past ttkt images and removes before ttkt
