Issue



When using Backup Exec Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Archiving Option, the archiving job fails with the following error.
 


Error



V-79-57344-39191

Final error: 0xe0009917 - An error occurred during the creation of the MAPI profile, or during the logon to the Exchange server. Ensure that the Backup Exec services account has appropriate permissions to access the mailbox on the Exchange server.
Final error category: Archiving Option Errors

 


Cause



This error is caused by not having Microsoft Outlook installed on the Backup Exec server

 


Solution



Install Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 on the Backup Exec server.  Microsoft Outlook is required for the Backup Exec Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Archiving Option.
