Problem
Backup Exec 2010 install fails on the server if it had Backup Exec System Recovery and later uninstalled.
Error
The install fails with an unexpected error :object reference not to an instance of an object.

Backup Exec Installation log (BKUPINST.HTM) install log reports:
ERROR: Installation failed with error -1073741819. GetLastError = :0
Cause
Database files and catalogs for the Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 are found at C:\program files\symantec\
Solution
Delete the Backup Exec System Recovery Database files, Catalogs files and other traces from Symantec folder if any files exist, and also ensure that there are no Backup Exec System Recovery/Backup Exec applications traces left on the server if it’s a fresh installation.
