Backup Exec installation fails while performing an upgrade or installing license key with an error V-225-23 and Error V-225-53: ERROR: Failed to install SQL Express BKUPEXEC instance with error 1603. ***To search for information about this error, click here  is reported in the installation log.

Cause



 Backup Exec database service i.e SQLSERVER(BKUPEXEC) is running under a domain or network account


Solution



 If the SQLserver service is running under a domain or network account the above error is reported. In order to resolve the issue please follow the steps below 

1. Click on start | Run | services.msc and hit enter 

2. Scroll down to the SQLSERVER  service right click on it and click on properties 

 

 

3. Click on the log on tab and change the account to Local system account  and restart the service

 

4.  Retry with the installation.
