This hofix fixes following known issues:
========================================
Etrack 1862133: 'System.OutOfMemoryException' when viewing the Archive Result pane of a search with a large quantity of archives
Etrack 1950825: Extremely slow Data Collection during Analytics ingestion
Etrack 1947087:  "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown error when Synchronizing a large Active Directory" 
Etrack 1958523: When attempting to open a customer created Custodian Attribute, an OOM condition occurs
Etrack 1945876: EventID 28 and 34 when synchronizing certain Active Directory objects
Etrack 1928109: DA server runs out of memory prior to returning custodian list


Solution



This hotfix is included in versions 8.0 Service Pack 5 and 9.0 Service Pack 1 and above.

 

How to install this Hotfix?
===========================


Discovery Accelerator (DA) Hotfix File Installation Instructions
============================================================

1. Stop "Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service" on all the DA Servers.

2. Make a copy of your DA Server Installation folder (referred to as <server_install_loc>, typically "C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault Business Accelerator")
   and DA client instllation folder (referred to as <client_install_loc>, typically "C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows User Name>\Local Settings
   \Application Data\Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator\Client" on Windows 2003).

3. Take a backup of your DA configuration database, custodian manager database and all DA customer databases.

4. Stop the IIS Server hosting the Custodian Manager website.

5. Replace file listed in "Files Updated" section in the Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator installation folder
   (Referred to as <server_install_loc>).

6. Replace file listed in "Files Updated" section in the Enterprise Vault Discovery Accelerator Client installation folder
   (Referred to as <client_install_loc>).

7. Run the SQL script Scalability_Hotfix_1_Config.sql against the DA Configuration database. (This script is located in "DA_SQL_Scripts" Folder of Hotfix)

8. Run the SQL script Scalability_Hotfix_1_Custodian.sql against the DA custodian database. (This script is located in "DA_SQL_Scripts" Folder of Hotfix)

9. Run the sql script Scalability_Hotfix_1_Customer.sql against all DA Customer databases.  (This script is located in "DA_SQL_Scripts" Folder of Hotfix)

10. Start "Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service" on the DA Server.

11. Start the IIS Server hosting the Custodian Manager website.

12. Change the value of Setting "Synchronization interval(hours)" in Custodian Manager website:
   
    a. On Custodian Manager landing page, click on "View Settings"
    b. In the "Settings For" dropdown, select "Profile Synchronization"
    c. Change the value of "Synchronization interval(hours)" from the default value of '8' to '24'

How to uninstall this Hotfix?
=============================

Discovery Accelerator (DA) Hotfix File Installation Instructions
============================================================

1. Stop "Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service" on all the DA Servers.

2. Stop the IIS Server hosting the Custodian Manager website.

3. Replace the DA Server Installation folder and the DA client instllation folder with the copies created in step 2 of the "How to install this Hotfix?" section.

4. Restore from backup the copy of the DA configuration database, custodian manager database and all DA customer databases.

5. Start "Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service" on the DA Server.

6. Start the IIS Server hosting the Custodian Manager website.

7. Change the value of Setting "Synchronization interval(hours)" in Custodian Manager website:
   
    a. On Custodian Manager landing page, click on "View Settings"
    b. In the "Settings For" dropdown, select "Profile Synchronization"
    c. Change the value of "Synchronization interval(hours)" from '24' to the default value of '8'

 

 

Issues which are not fixed in this hotfix:
==============================================
Following screens in the Custodian Manager Website are not changed to handle large data.

1. Custodian Groups listing page.
   This page is displayed when user clicks on Custodian Groups link on the Home page.
   This page lists all available synchronised groups in directory.

2. Select Custodian Popup in Custodian Group properties page.
   This pop up is displayed when user clicks on Add button in Custodian Groups properties page to add custodian members to
   a non-synchronised Custodian Group.
   This pop up lists all available custodians.

3. Select username from AD popup in New Custodian page
   User can create a new custodian by clicking on 'New Custodian' button on the Custodians
   listing page. On this page when user clicks 'Browse' button, 'select username from AD' pop up is displayed which lists all
   available users in the selected AD domain.
 
4. Custodian Group 'More' details page
   This page is displayed when user clicks on 'More' button on custodian gruop properties page.
   This page lists detail information of the custodian groups like Membership history, group display name history etc.

5. Add/Edit Custodian Custom Attributes in New Custodian page
   This page is displayed when user creates new custodian by clicking on 'New Custodian' button on the Custodians listing page.
   While creating the custodian in Custodian Manager, user can add values to custom attributes either from existing
   available attribute values or by typing new value. To select a value from existing values this page loads all available
   values for the particular attribute in the drop down box.
