A Direct Access enabled backup job targeted to an OST (Open Storage Technology) device using the Deduplication Option completes with exceptions.
Direct Access is enabled for this job, but it could not be used.

The OST plug-in from the vendor of the OST device needs to be installed on the remote server in addition to the Backup Exec server.
First check the HCL if the device is supported. If supported, then the OST plug-in needs to be installed on the remote server along with the Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS) in order run a backup to the device using the Direct Access option.
Contact the OST device vender to obtain the plug-in to be installed on the required server.
