Some users can not log in to the Control Center Quarantine in Brightmail Gateway version 9.x

Technical Solution


Some users are having issues logging in to Control Center Quarantine, receiving the log in screen again after entering their correct log in information.



  • You have a multiple Domain configuration e.g.,,
  • The user trying to log in has multiple email addresses e.g. and



DDS error - "AddressNotUniqueException: Address <address> is not unique."

Active Directory with Parent and Child domains


This error occurs when the user trying to log on has multiple Active Directory objects or attributes associated. The Control Center is unable to authenticate the user as it requires the Active Directory object to be unique.


This is working as designed. To work around this issue, either change the user in Active Directory to ensure they do not to have multiple entries or customize the query filter in the Control Center to filter out multiple entries.
