Summary

This hotfix contains a recommended fix for Backup Exec and Remote Agents.

Prerequisites

- Administrative privileges are required to install this hotfix.

- Before installing this hotfix, Service Pack 1 must be installed. Service Pack 1 can be obtained here:  www.symantec.com/docs/TECH136199

 

 

Post requisites

- A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.

- The IDR recovery media (the ISO created through the IDR Wizard) needs to be recreated after installing this hotfix.

- Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.

- For "Unable to select some DB2/ORACLE sets" issue, "catrebuildindex -r" must be run after the patch has been applied, with the services stopped.

Issue(s) resolved

 

- Advanced Disk Backup Option error when using offhost with Windows 2008 R2 standard  
- After a duplicate job fails, a job log is generated which grows in size until the server runs out of resources, that in turn causes BESERVER to hang on starting. ( For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH124237 )
- Catalog Rebuild (Catrebuildindex) fails on Windows 2003 32bit media server ( For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH141740 )

- Unable to perform a normal restore in Backup Exec 2010 when restoring a subset of data from a backup set that is 4(TB) or larger that was created in previous version of Backup Exec for Windows ( For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH128478 ) 
- Backup Exec Job Engine (bengine.exe) service crashes intermittently during True Image Restore (TIR) restore job. ( For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH129060 )
- Drive letters cannot be restored for some of the volumes" is reported during Intelligent Disaster Recovery (IDR) when multiple disks are replaced to brand new disks. ( For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH125989 )

- DB2/ORACLE: Unable to select some DB2/ORACLE sets when creating a duplicate job

- NDMP device monger causes wrong SCSI path to be used for backup  
- Dedupe and RMAL Bengine crash with 0xe00081d9 - The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding
