Problem
Manually configuring the collectors on a CH returns an error.
Error
ERROR:Failed to configure virtual explorer RHCollector
Cause
There is an error in the Veritas CommandCentral 5.2 Installation Guide:
Pages 155-156
Section "To manually configure the collectors on the Control Host"
Step 5, To configure the collectors, type the following command:
Solaris
/opt/VRTSccs/bin/perl
/opt/VRTSccs/bin/ccch_configure.pl configure
--explorer-name all --password password
Windows
"C:\Program Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral
Storage\bin\perl.exe" "C:\Program
Files\VERITAS\CommandCentral
Storage\bin\ccch_configure.pl" configure
--explorer-name all --password password
Where password is the password of the Management Server's Agent principal account. The default password is agent123
Solution
When configuring the collectors on a CH, the password to use in the command line is the CCS 'admin' password. The Agent password is only used if the collectors are being configured on the CCS Management Server.
