Enterprise Vault Policy Manager (EVPM) does not archive unexpired Calendar items from a PST file when archiving to a shared archive.

Issue



EVPM does not archive unexpired Calendar items during the import process even though the Exchange Mailbox Policy has Archive unexpired Calendar Events set to On.   Since the target is a shared archive the items will not be copied to a mailbox as there will not be an associated mailbox.   

 


Error



The import log file will show output similar to the following:

PST migration summary:

     PST File: c:\PST\EVPM.pst

     Number of folders processed: 4

     Number of items archived to vault: 1 of 2

     - Number of items not eligible for archiving because of PST Migration Policy setting: 1

 


Solution



Workaround

Import the PST using the Archives > Import PST wizard in the Vault Administration Console as this issue does not occur when using this method.
