After restoring a virtual machine with a non windows OS installed on it, the vmdk will be restored in an inconsistent state if the vmdk is over 250GB or larger in size.

After restoring a non windows virtual machine using the Agent for VMWare Virtual Infrastructure if the VMDK is over 250GB, the disk will be restored in an inconsistent state.

This issue occurs in Backup Exec 2010, Backup Exec 2010 R2 and Backup Exec 2010 R3
