Issue

Remote Agent backups fail on rights when all rights are set. Remote Agent has missing Registry Rights effecting the backup and Agent tools.

Error

Running SGMon on the Remote Agent server fails - You do not have access to the windows registry.

Exchange 2010 Backup error - Database is incompatible.  BE could not backup Exchange database because BE could not find healthy copy of database.

Environment

Backup Exec registry keys of the remote server have some keys with no rights on them. Thus they can not be read.

Cause

Possible Policy or rights issue during the install that blocked the rights being applied to the registry keys.

Solution

1. Ensure the ID being used for the install has all rights needed by Backup Exec in the Domain/Local security policy.

2. Uninstall the Remote Agent.

3. Install the Remote Agent. As the issue could be a Policy blocking a remote install, use a Local Install method.
