Solution

Manual reencapsulation needed as below -

1.  clear  public and private partiton  with tags 14 and 15 using  prtvtoc and format

# prtvtoc -h /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s2
      0      2    00      81408  25175424  25256831
      1      3    01   25256832  10430400  35687231
      2      5    00          0 143349312 143349311
      3     15    01      10176     71232     81407                           ** private region
      4     14    01      81408 143267904 143349311                 ** public region

      6      2    00   98635968  41945472 140581439
      7      7    00   35687232  20982912  56670143

# format c1t0d0
zero out slice 3 and 4 and label

2. Check /etc/vfstab and /etc/system for any entry for disk encapsulation bits , and remove or comment them out

3. re-encapsulate

# /etc/vx/bin/vxencap -c -g rootdg -f sliced rootdisk=c1t1d0
