The Enterprise Vault (EV) File System Archiving (FSA) task shows numerous errors stating 'An item with the same key has already been added.'

Issue



There are excessive errors reported in the FSA Archiving Task report file causing the file to grow very large. However, files are being archived properly to the EV server.

 


Error



The report file entries will be similar to the following.  It is possible that a second error is returned for the file, however the file does show as being archived properly by the last entry.  The file can be seen in the archive when searching or using Archive Explorer.

This issue has been addressed in the following release:

Enterprise Vault 9.0.4

Workaround

Set the reporting level to Brief on the Reports tab of the File System Archiving task or disable the reporting by removing the check from Generate report files for archive runs.


Enterprise Vault 10.x
Symantec Corporation has acknowledged that the above-mentioned issue is present in the current version(s) of the product(s) mentioned at the end of this article. Symantec Corporation is committed to product quality and satisfied customers. 

There are no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the current or previous versions of the software at the present time. However, the issue is currently scheduled to be addressed in the next major revision of the product.
