Environment

PureDisk 6.6.1 with Replicated Agents

Cause

One of the 'Replicated Agents' (identified by "[R]" in the hostname) was incorrectly disabled.

The 'statustypeid' field in the agent table is:

0 - Virtual Agent
1 - Inactive
2 - Enabled

As there are no dataselections associated with a Virtual Agent, the test for empty dataselections is triggered when a Virtual Agent is set to 'Inactive'.

Solution

Do NOT disable Virtual Clients.

To fix, support had to manually re-set statustypeid:

e.g.

# /opt/pddb/bin/psql -U pddb ca -c "update agent set statustypeid=0 where id=48"

'Virtual Agents' are easily identified by the '[R] ' in front of the hostname.

e.g.

# /opt/pddb/bin/psql -U pddb ca -c "select id,hostname from agent where statustypeid != 0 and hostname like '[R]%'"
