Error

Error EC8F1C50: Cannot create file backup for job: My Documents. Error EBAB001A: An unknown exception has
occurred at .\CreateImage.cpp 927. Error EBAB001A: An unknown exception has occurred at %1 %2.

Cause

This could be an issue with Symsnap service, while taking a backup of particular file or folder may be those files and folder are in use, and Symsnap service is not able to take a backup of those files.

This could also be caused, if the VSS writers are not stable or the status of the VSS writers is failed.

Solution

1) Try with changing the location of the Backup Destination
2) Check the disk defragmentation
3) Check VSS writer Status
4) Go to MSInfo32 and check whether Symsnap service is running in loaded Module or not, if it is not running then it is a problem with Symsnap service

5) Stop the BESR service, Stop the VProTray.exe from the task Manager. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec System Recovery\Schedule move the .PQJ files to an alternate location (to keep existing backups jobs)

Also in the same path in History folder move the .PQH files to another location for temporary period.

6) Restart the BESR Services and then run the backup.
