Which version of Symantec Enterprise Vault (tm) can this hotfix be applied?
This hotfix can only be applied to the following versions of Enterprise Vault for:

Enterprise Vault (EV) for File System Archiving 8.0 SP5, Build 1048


Error



Cannot read the item

or

Access is denied.  Verify the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not being used.


Solution



What issue(s) does this hotfix resolve?
On a client machine or the EV server that has Outlook installed, retrieval of FSA archived MSG files from placeholders may generate one of the messages in the above Error section.

How to Install this hotfix:

1. Stop all the EV services.
2. Backup the original versions of the files listed above in the Enterprise Vault install folder.
3. Copy the patched file into the Enterprise Vault install folder.
4. Start the EV services.


How to Uninstall this hotfix:
1. Stop all the EV services.
2. Copy the original file from the backup location and replace the patched copy.
3. Start the EV services.
