Summary
This hotfix contains a recommended fix for the Backup Exec media server and remote agents.

Prerequisites
- Administrative privileges are required to install this hotfix.
- Before installing this hotfix, hotfix 150096 must be installed. Hotfix 150096 can be obtained here: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH150096
 

Post requisites
- A full backup is recommended after installing this hotfix.
- The IDR recovery media (the ISO created through the IDR Wizard) needs to be recreated after installing this hotfix.
- Remote Agent for Windows Servers will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.
- Desktop/Laptop clients will need to be updated after installing this hotfix.



Issues resolved
- Unable to restore from EMC NDMP duplicate backup sets in Backup Exec for Windows 12.5, 2010, and 2010 R2. (For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH136768)
- DFS restore jobs in Backup Exec 2010 may appear to hang and take a extended amount of time to restore the DFS files. (For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135096)
- Backup Exec Job Engine Service (BENGINE.EXE) terminates intermittently in THEFH_LibCatalog possibly due to high number of concurrent jobs and or amount of on disk catalogs (For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH140028)
- Unable to restore True Image Restore (TIR) incremental backup due to bengine.exe or beremote.exe crash (For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH135408)
- German version of Backup Exec 2010 R2 is missing the "OK" button in the dialogs for Copy Job, Copy Policy, Copy Selection List and Copy Settings to Media Servers (For more details, please refer to this document: www.symantec.com/docs/TECH142751 )

- After applying multiple patches via Live Update, the BESERVER service fails to start b/c port 3527 is in use
- BEMCMD -o2 -r switch to to replace a previously defined job and target a new device fails with -536837635:The script that is being saved does not contain any selections.
- BEMCMD: Setcopy/Backup job fails if ENCRYPTION_KEY_NAME was specified in the script
- Year 3000 or greater for an objects modified, created, or accessed date/time will cause engine to crash
- A missing catalog files on an MMS with centralized cataloging will cause a crash when an attempt is made to transfer the file to the CAS Server
- BEserver crash on cluster failure in the mock
- CASO: Services, Backup Exec Job Engine, "E00081d9 - "The Backup Exec Job Engine System Service is not responding and "ErrorCode :: 10054 : An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
- Korean IDR crashes as soon as the Restoring Data window appears
- IDR CD boots in wrong locale
- IDR: LSI_SAS2 SCSI HBA is not recognized during IDR
- NDMP: handle the case where BE media server receives a "data_halt" from data server before the EOM delay timer is expired
- When encrypting the On disk catalog information the work buffer is not big enough
- Inventory appears to be running for Removable B2D each time the next BKF is needed to load to continue job

 (1) These files are installed into the Windows Global Assembly Cache (GAC).  This is located by default in C:\Windows\Assembly.

Additional information:

Apply as necessary :

 (1) The *.tar.gz file will contain a ralusinstallpatch.sh file as well as the appropriate *.tar for the platform it's patching.
(2) Compressed file versions can be verified as correct by uncompressing the files using expand.exe command. (e.g. expand.exe -r bedrwiz.ex_ %TEMP% - the bedrwiz.ex_ will be decompressed as bedrwiz.exe in the %TEMP% folder.)
