Problem
The customer changed the Backup exec server ip and the RALUS agent dessapeared from the Selection List in the Media server
Error
In the ralusdebug file 65d8b90 Mon Nov 15 08:34:43 2010 : BETCPConnection::CreateConnectionFromHostAndPort: Remote Host: "192.168.16.58": There were no addresses returned, belonging to family: IPv6 65d8b90 Mon Nov 15 08:34:43 2010 : BETCPConnection::CreateConnectionFromHostAndPort: Could not create a connection to "XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX" because attempts with both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols failed
Environment
RALUS
Cause
The ralus agent is advertising to the old Backup Exec Media server ip instead of advertising to the new ip..
Solution
Use a text editor to open the following file:
/opt/VRTSralus/ralus.cfg
2 Add the following string:
Software\Symantec\Backup Exec For Windows\Backup
Exec\Engine\Agents\Agent Directory List unique identifier number = IP
address or DNS name of media server
3 Save and close the file.
---Restart the remote server--
(/ect/init.d/vrtsralus stop
/ect/init.d/vrtsralus start
