Making a user change on AIX causes 100% of the CPU to be used for 5 min.

Technical Solution



The System User Monitor detection policy has reported hogging an AIX system.



 100% of the CPU used for 5 min.


Due to the size of the AIX groups and user file, computer resources, etc., multiple instances of the exist at a given time.
However, the script is not designed to handle that condition.  Please note that when there are multiple instances of the
process running at the same time, every user in the passwd file is considered as a new entry.


The script was modified to resolve this issue. All versions at 5.2.4 and above, contain this fix.
