Error - " No Current Records " or Error " Unknown COM error "

Problem
This error message has been observed when usually querying some of the Data Sources in BVC-SQL. The effected datasources are usually the following data sources:
Remote Logins
Remote Servers
Replication DB query
Server Audit
Server Logins
Server Roles
Error
One of the two error messages are observed
- No Current Records
- Unknown COM error
Environment
BVIS is using SQL 2008 64 bit version on x64 platform.
CCS 10 - 2010-4 PCU
OS : Windows 2003 64-bit SP2 Enterprise
Note: This error was observed in this specific environment , Other environments have not been tested for this error message.
Cause
Backward compatibility components for SQL 2008 are found to be missing.
Solution
Install DMO which can be found in the "Backward compatibility components for SQL Server 2005". x 64 package
Installer was downloaded from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=228DE03F-3B5A-428A-923F-58A033D316E1&displaylang=en
The SQL Server Backward Compatibility package includes the latest versions of the Data Transformation Services 2000 runtime (DTS), SQL Distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO), Decision Support Objects (DSO), and SQL Virtual Device Interface (SQLVDI). These versions have been updated for compatibility with both SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 and include all fixes shipped through SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 (SP4) and SQL Server 2005 SP2.
