Problem
An Event ID 13 occurs frequently in the Windows Application log. This error is related to SescLU "LiveUpdate returned a non-critical error. Available content updates may have failed to install."
Cause
Possibly there was some corrupted content in the definitions received by the SEP client.
Solution
First, please assure that the technical article below has been followed.
Sesclu gives Event ID: 13 in the Windows Application log and definitions do not update.
If it didn't help, please apply the following procedure:
1. Under c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\ContentCache you will find several folders in the following format {812CD25E-1049-4086-9DDD-A4FAE649FBDF}
- Go to each of these folders and delete all its content.
Deleting the cached revisions should force a full package to come down via your enabled content channel(s) rather than a delta package and solve the issue.
2. Then, go to c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Downloads and delete all content of this folder
3. Right-click the SEP client in the icon tray and select 'Update Policy' or, in the console, 'Run Command on Clients' 'Update Content' for this client
