How to rebuild and repair Backup Exec Database

If the Database Maintenance fails, the Backup Exec database gets corrupted

Maintenance has failed: 4313, 4313:Unable to read from or write to the database


Cause



The Backup Exec Database can grow more than 4GB or when the debug logging is enabled for long time periods, the Database gets corrupt.


Solution



Re-index and rebuild the Backup Exec Database (BEDB).

1-Browse to the Backup Exec installation folder (C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec by default)

2-Double click on "BEutility.exe"

 

3-Click Yes, on the prevention window.

4-Symantec Backup Exec Utility will open.

5-Click on All Media Servers and on the Backup Exec server.

6-Right click on the server name.

7-Click on Rebuild and then on Repair.

8-After following these two steps, you will be able to use Backup Exec Database.
