Problem
"Unexpected server error" occurs before logging into Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager(SEPM) console
Cause
In IIS Manager - Symantec Web Server's Property- Main Directory, the default value - "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot" is set as the local path.
Solution
- Open the IIS Administration:
a. Click Start
b. Select All Programs > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager - Expand <server name> (This will frequently be the local computer.)
- Expand Web Sites
- Right click on Symantec Web Server
- Select Property
- Go to Main Directory and change "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot" to "C:\program files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Inetpub\".
