Cannot delete the DLO storage location using the DLO Administration Console.

Solution

1.- Stop the Backup Exec Services, from:

Tools -  Backup Exec Services - Stop All Services.

2.- From the Backup Exec program directory, which is usually:

\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Data

Copy these files to a backup location of your choice:

 bedb_dat.mdf , be_dlo.mdf , bedb_log.ldf and be_dlo_log.ldf

3. Then perform the following OSQL command to log into the Backup Exec SQL DLO database:

osql -E -S localhost\bkupexec -d BE_DLO

bkupexec: is the instance in which Backup Exec is installed.

BE_DLO: Is the Desktop and Laptop option database.

4. Once logged into the Backup Exec SQL Instance, and the DLO database, issue the following SQL DELETE command to remove the affected storage location.

1> delete from dbo.share where sharename = 'DLOShareTest'
2> go

Note: To log in to the SQL database, you may use SQLCMD instead of OSQL. In this case, write the login command this way:

SQLCMD -S localhost\bkupexec
