Issue

After installing the new NS 6.5 Console and the Administrators SDK, when opening the Configuration->Console->Menus option the following error will be seen (actually this occurs when trying to access any of the options in the Web Parts which is a new piece to the 6.5 console):

Environment

NS SP3 + 6.5 console
Administrators SDK 1.2

Cause

This was caused because of a name duplication deeper in the code. Once this was fixed within the ASDK code, the problem was resolved.

Solution

Resolved in Altiris SDK 1.3 available from http://www.altiris.com/Download.aspx

When installing a newer version of the ASDK it is necessary to completely uninstall the previous version then install the updated version. If this is not done, the ASDK will generate a number of inconsistent errors and will generally not function well.
