Items 'Awaiting Backup' may not decrease when using the trigger file method for determining whether items have been secured.

Items are not set to be secured when using a trigger file without a Scan partition every value set.
A Dtrace of the StorageFileWatch process on the Enterprise Vault server will show the following failure. For more information on Dtrace please refer to the link in the Related Articles section.

This issue may occur if the Scan partition every option is not selected when the Check for a trigger file method is being used on the Backup tab of the partition properties.
Check the Scan partition every value on the Backup tab of the partition properties and use the default value of 60 or a higher value for number of minutes.
