Problem

Excel 2007 with the SigmaXL plugin takes approximately 30 or more seconds to close with Symantec Endpoint Protection installed.

Error

Sometimes Windows may generate a dialogue indicating that Excel cannot close.

Environment

Support has isolated this issue to Auto-Protect. The issue does not occur with Auto-Protect disabled.

Solution

This problem is fixed in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 Release Update 6 Maintenance Patch 3. For information on how to obtain the latest build of Symantec Endpoint Protection, read Obtaining the latest version of Endpoint Protection or Network Access Control 11.
