Problem
How do I update my PGP Desktop license after renewing?
Solution
This article describes the process to update your license number after renewing a subscription license or your yearly maintenance for PGP Desktop.
Following your PGP software renewal, you will receive a new License Number via email. Please use the following process to update your PGP Desktop software to the new license number.
Windows:
PGP Desktop 9.x
To update your license of PGP Desktop:
1. Click on the PGP Desktop lock icon in the system tray.
2. Select License, and then click the Change License button.
3. Type a Name, Organization, Email Address.
4. Click Next.
5. Enter the new License Number.
You may copy and paste the entire License Number directly from your email by placing the cursor in the first License Number field.
6. Click Next to authorize your license.
PGP Desktop 8.x
To update your license of PGP Desktop:
1. Click on the PGP Desktop lock icon in the system tray.
2. Select License, and then click the Change License button.
3. Type a Nameand Organization.
4. Enter the new License Number.
You may copy and paste the entire License Number directly from your email by placing the cursor in the first License Number field.
5. Click Authorize to authorize your license.
Mac OS X
To update your license of PGP Desktop
1. Open PGP Desktop.
2. From the menu bar, pull down the PGP menu.
3. Click License.
4. Click Change License.
5. Enter the new License Number.
You may copy and paste the entire License Number directly from your email by placing the cursor in the first License Number field.
6. Click the Authorize button.
