Problem
This article details PGP Desktop's support for 64-bit operating systems.
Solution
PGP Desktop and PGP Command Line 64-bit Support
- Beginning with version 9.7, PGP Desktop supports Windows Vista 64-bit editions.
- PGP Desktop is currently not supported on Windows XP 64-bit editions.
- PGP Command Line 9.6 and above provide support for Windows Vista 64-bit editions.
- PGP Command Line 9.7 and above provide support for Windows XP and Windows Vista 64-bit editions.
PGP Command Line and PGP Desktop can be used together on a Windows Vista 64-bit system. However, when using PGP Desktop and PGP Command Line on a Windows Vista 64-bit system, PGP Command Line must be installed as a 32-bit application.
| Note: If you have PGP Desktop installed on the same Windows or Mac OS X computer as PGP Command Line, and you installed PGP Desktop into the default directory, then PGP Command Line will automatically locate and use your existing keyrings. |
