Problem
When attempting to perform PGP Whole Disk Encryption on your disk, you receive the following error:
file operation error
This issue is due to an incorrect file name in a PGP directory on a Macintosh system formatted with the case-sensitive option for the file system. When viewing the system log, you see an entry similar to the following:
Dec 9 11:33:20 [0x0-0x10010].com.pgp.engine[186]: Open File Library/Frameworks/PGPwde.framework/Resources/stage1 Status: No such file or directory
| Note: This article applies to PGP Desktop 9.9 running on Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5. |
Solution
To correct this issue:
- Browse to the Library/Frameworks/PGPwde.framework/Resources/stage1 directory.
- Locate the following file: Stage1.
- Rename the file to stage1.
- Restart PGP Whole Disk Encryption on the disk.
