To upgrade an existing PGP Endpoint installation to include the Application Control feature, you must replace the license file for PGP Endpoint. If you rename your new license file and the directory contains two license files, PGP Endpoint recognizes the files alphabetically. Therefore, if two license files exist and PGP Endpoint does not display Application Control, rename the new license file to precede your old license file or delete the old license file.

After replacing the license file, restart the SXS service for PGP Endpoint using the commands below:

 

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Type net stop sxs.
3. Type net start sxs.
4. Exit the command prompt.

To confirm your PGP Endpoint includes Application Control:

 

1. Open the PGP Endpoint Management Console.
2. Click Help and select About.

If your license was successfully updated, the ProductName includes PGP Endpoint Device Control and PGP Endpoint Application Control.
