Technical Solution

After setting up your Mail account settings on Max OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to connect to a Microsoft Exchange 2007 server account, PGP Desktop fails to proxy email messages and messages are sent in clear text.

This issue occurs on Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) due to the Mail.app configuring Exchange Server connections to use Outlook Web Access (port 443) by default. This prohibits PGP Desktop from proxying the email account.

When setting up your mail account settings in Mail, press the Option key after clicking the Continue button which allows you to specify Exchange 2007 as your Incoming Server.
