Issue

When attempting to delete a folder in a PGP Virtual Disk, you receive the error:

Unable to delete folder. Access Denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protect...

Solution

This error occurs on Windows 2000 and Windows XP when the PGP Virtual Disk is mounted as a folder and the Windows Recycle Bin cannot interpret the folders within the mounted drive. This issue limited to deleting folders within Windows Explorer. This is a known Microsoft issue.

Workaround(s)

  1. When deleting the folder, press Shift+Delete. This bypasses the Recycle Bin and permanently deletes the folder.
  2. Open a command prompt, browse to the folder's directory and use the rd command to delete the folder.
Caution: Deleting folders/files using these methods permanently deletes the data. The data can only be recovered from a backup.
