Problem
After installing PGP Desktop 9.12 on Windows 7 Home Premium, Internet Explorer 8 stops functioning and you receive the error:
Internet Explorer has stopped working...
Solution
This is a known issue which occurs on computers with Windows 7 Home Premium and PGP Desktop 9.12 when using the 32-bit (x86) version of Internet Explorer 8. This issue is due to an incompatibility in the method that PGP Desktop queries the proxy settings on Windows 7.
This error does not occur when using the 64-bit version of Internet Explorer 8 (x64) on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition.
This issue is fixed in PGP Desktop 10. To download the latest version of PGP Desktop, you must have a current software maintenance agreement. Maintenance means the right to receive Software Updates and Software Upgrades (if any) released during the period specified in your order.
