Problem
This article details the end-of-sale, end-of-support, and end-of-life dates for PGP Desktop 8.x products.
Solution
PGP Corporation announces the end-of-sale, end-of-support, and end-of life dates for the PGP® Desktop 8.x product family, including maintenance releases and/or patches, for all supported platforms and released languages. This notice describes the timelines for the termination of support services for these products that have reached their End-of-Life (EOL).
The last day to order the affected product(s) is August 31, 2010. After this date, PGP will no longer accept orders for the product part numbers listed in Table 2, below.
Customers with active and paid service and support maintenance will continue to receive support from PGP® Technical Support. PGP Desktop 8.x products will reach End-of-Support (EOS) on August 31, 2011.
PGP Corporation will make reasonable efforts to provide bug fixes or workarounds for critical issues related to PGP Desktop 8.x through August 31, 2011. However, there will be no fixes or enhancements directly into PGP Desktop 8.x. All fixes or enhancements will be considered for inclusion in the shipping release of PGP® Desktop Email as feasible and appropriate. Technical Support will be available until the End-of-Support date of August 31, 2011.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to PGP Corporation's latest end-to-end email encryption solution offerings.
Customers with active and paid PGP® maintenance agreements may upgrade to the current version of PGP's latest end-to-end email encryption solution offerings at no additional cost as part of their support program by contacting Customer Service. See Table 3 for the recommended PGP Email product upgrade options.
Customers without an active maintenance agreement as of September 1st, 2010 will not be able to upgrade to the current version of PGP® email products at no additional cost. New licenses of the current version of the PGP email products will need to be purchased; please see your local PGP® channel partner or PGP® representative for details and pricing.
