General

  • Resolved an issue where PGP Desktop would crash when uploading a new key to the Global Directory in certain circumstances. [26419]

PGP Messaging

  • Improvements made to smart card/token handling when the user's PIN is not required to send email. [25139]
  • When configuring a secure SMTP messaging service in PGP Desktop, STARTTLS now works properly for secure transmission of login credentials. [26399]
  • When PGP Desktop is installed on PGP Desktop for Windows systems running Symantec Enterprise Vault Client, all email messages in the Microsoft Office Draft folder are no longer sent when replying to or forwarding an archived email message. [24974]
  • Resolved an issue where the PGP MAPI Proxy in PGP Desktop for Windows would fail to decode messages when Symantec Enterprise Vault 2007 was also installed on the system. [25490]

PGP NetShare

  • Added support for a Windows Registry DWORD value that will disable DFS path matching in PGP NetShare encrypted DFS file shares. To disable DFS path matching, add the following registry DWORD and set the value to 0: [26965] \\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PGP Corporation\PGP\NetShareDfsMatching
  • PGP NetShare DLLs will no longer be registered in the system if the PGP_INSTALL_NETSHARE=0 option is used in the command line using msiexec.exe to install PGP Desktop. [23267]
  • Resolved the issue where saving Microsoft Office documents to a remote PGP NetShare-protected share could cause the Office application to hang. [26314]
  • Enhanced PGP NetShare encryption operations so that they no longer entirely abort when encountering common errors. [26129]

PGP Portable

  • Resolved an issue in PGP Portable where copying large directories containing multiple files and folders could fail if a certain specific file name creation pattern was used. [26229]

PGP Viewer

  • PGP Viewer can now successfully open and decrypt .gpg messages. [25885]

PGP Whole Disk Encryption

  • Resolved incompatibility issues with Hewlett-Packard systems using the Insyde BIOS. [26112]
  • Resolved the issue with PGP Desktop for Mac OS X so that Macintosh computers can now enter sleep mode when idle. [25691]
  • Resolved an issue in PGP WDE Local Self Recovery where empty answers would be accepted on secondary encrypted systems. [27783]
  • Improved the overall stability of PGP Desktop on PGP WDE-only installations when the system is idle. [27850]
  • Removed unnecessary text from the PGP Whole Disk Encryption enrollment screens where you were prompted to contact your IT Administrator. [24787]
  • Resolved an interoperability issue with many backup utilities, including Iron Mountain Connected Backup/PC Agent, where backups would fail on PGP WDE-encrypted disks. [26024]
  • Resolved issues with occasional issues when PGP WDE on Windows 7 64 bit systems did not properly resume from hibernation. [27001, 27634]
  • Resolved the issue where PGP WDE-encrypted systems with multiple CPUs would encounter a blue screen error when under heavy load. [27027]
  • Resolved the issue so that PGP Desktop no longer installs the PGP WDE driver if PGP WDE is specifically omitted when using the msiexec.exe command to install PGP Desktop for Windows. [26989]
  • Added support for multiple advanced preferences that allow for additional customizations to the PGP WDE Bootguard screen. The new preferences are bgStaticUpperTextEnabled, bgStaticLowerTextEnabled, bgStaticTitleTextEnabled, and bgAdvancedInfoTextEnabled. [19849]

PGP Desktop 10.0.2

PGP Whole Disk Encryption

  • Resolved an issue with PGP Desktop version 10.0.0/10.0.1 for Mac OS X. Upgrading to that release on a system encrypted with PGP Desktop 9.10/9.12 and then subsequently encrypting an external disk caused the system to hang and become unresponsive and caused further attempts to authenticate the disk to fail. PGP Desktop 10.0.1

General

  • General improvements have been made to the localized text in the PGP Desktop (Windows and Mac OS X) user interface, including improvements to the security questions for each locale and overall improvements to the PGP BootGuard Japanese IME.

PGP Keys

  • When choosing between subkeys, the PGP SDK now prefers larger subkeys for signing and encryption when there are two subkeys created at the same time but with different sizes. [21179]
  • Resolved the issues where changing the passphrase on imported SCKM keys using PGP Desktop for Windows was not working properly. [25560]
  • Resolved the issue where email could not be encrypted to RSA legacy (v3) keys that were not self-signed. [26050]

PGP Messaging

  • PGP Notifier now includes the option to block messages as expected when the recipient key can not be found on Mac OS X systems. [25719]
  • Resolved the issues when creating new messaging services with PGP Desktop on Microsoft Windows 2000 systems. [25782]
  • Improved compatibility with PGP Desktop 8.x encrypted RTF email. [24723]

PGP NetShare

  • Resolved the issue where Windows Explorer would halt unexpectedly when accessing the PGP NetShare tab. [25561]

PGP Portable

  • Resolved issues encountered with creating PGP Portable Disks on NTFS-formatted disks greater than 4 GB. [25414]

PGP Whole Disk Encryption

  • Improvements have been made when using PIV cards with Dell D620 internal CCID readers. [24566]
  • Resolved the issue with booting various Hewlett-Packard DV-Series systems after encrypting with PGP WDE. Models include HP Pavilion DV6, HP Pavilion DV51100, HP Pavilion DV6700, and HP Pavilion DV7. [24728]
  • Resolved the issues when booting Dell E6400 systems running Microsoft Windows XP SP2 64-bit systems when the disk was encrypted with PGP WDE. [25324]
  • Resolved incompatibility issues with PGP WDE single sign-on on systems running AVG Anti-Virus software. [25889]
  • When encrypting using PGP WDE for Mac OS X, if bad blocks are encountered during encryption, the encryption process will continue and those errors are logged to PGP UN in a managed environment. [25556]
  • When encrypting disks with PGP WDE for Mac OS X, existing RAID volumes no longer cause problems and are now skipped and not encrypted. [25622]
  • Resolved issues encountered when mounting encrypted non-system disks (whether internal or external) on Mac OS X systems. [25697]
  • Resolved the issue where the --recover command could not be used in some circumstances to recover data on an encrypted drive. [25425]

PGP Virtual Disk

  • Resolved the issue where changing the PGP Virtual Disk .pgd file to read-only prevented the mounting of the virtual disk. [25839]

General

  • General improvements have been made to the localized (German and Japanese) text in the PGP Desktop (Windows and Mac OS X) user interface, including improvements to the security questions for each locale.

  • The Current Window/Clipboard encryption and decryption features are now supported on Windows Vista 64-bit systems. [19609]

  • Resolved the cases where PGP Desktop for Windows would erroneously display the error message "The PGP preferences file has been corrupted." [20720]
  • Corrected the error message displayed when you are installing a PGP Desktop update in a managed environment and are unable to contact the PGP Universal Server. [21579]

  • Performing updates to PGP Desktop via an authenticated HTTP proxy is now supported. [19199]
  • Numerous improvements have been made to enrollment on PGP Desktop for Mac OS X. [19920]
  • Improved logging during enrollment with PGP Desktop for Windows if the Microsoft Windows Registry keys identifying the user's application data folder are not present (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData). [18292]

  • On PGP Desktop for Mac OS X, certificates that do not have passphrases associated with them can now be imported. [18640]
  • PGP Desktop for Windows can now decrypt data with V4 bundle keys even if a V3 legacy key is on your keyring. [18904]
  • In PGP Desktop for Windows, after you reconstruct your key, the key's Trust status is now set to Implicit. [18985]

PGP Messaging

  • After PGP Tray quits unexpectedly and is restarted, PGP Notes re-establishes its connection with PGP Tray and processes emails without needing to re-start Lotus Notes. [13100, 20566]
  • With the new HTML rendering of MIME messages in Lotus Notes 8.5, the annotations for reply messages in HTML format will be displayed in HTML format. [21006]
  • If a non-PGP Notes user replies to a PGP-signed message, the recipient will see the content of user's reply. [21143]
  • If an email message is sent to an invalid Lotus Notes Address ID and is bounced back by the Domino Server, PGP Notes will process re-sending of the email message. [21625]
  • Lotus Notes correctly enforces email policy for Notes rich text formatted messages when the policy specifies that body contains specified text. [10499]
  • Lotus Notes emails with encrypted attachments can now be automatically decrypted by PGP Desktop. [11969]
  • PGP Desktop now correctly renders images when the messages are archived to read-only databases. [12862]
  • PGP keys that are not valid for signing email messages now display an error message in PGP Desktop for Windows. [15369]
  • When sending tasks using outlook via IMAP/POP, the task is now encrypted. (Note that MAPI is not encrypted and is sent in the clear.) [16811]

  • Trailing and leading whitespaces in email addresses are deleted when using PGP Key Generation Assistant to generate new keys and when adding a new email address to an existing key using the Key Properties dialog box. [17966]

  • When mail policy is to encrypt and sign an email message using a smart card, PGP Notes blocks the message if the smart card is not present. [18889]

  • PGP IMAP Proxy will not send plaintext credentials once to the IMAP server that is configured to force TLS. It either negotiates TLS with the server or drops the connection. [20661]
  • PGP Notes will encrypt highly sensitive email messages via the confidential policy that gets triggered by Lotus Notes' delivery options of "Prevent copying" or "Mood Stamp". PGP NetShare

  • PGP NetShare-only licenses now correctly recognize an existing key during client enrollment. [14365]
  • Revoked keys can no longer be added to PGP NetShare, regardless of the user ID. [14408]
  • User's keys are not allowed to be removed from a PGP NetShare-protected folder if PGP Universal Server policy specifies that folders must always be encrypted to the user's key. [17649]
  • Additional Decryption Keys (ADKs) can now be used to remove a PGP NetShare Protected Folder. [19992]
  • Improvements have been made when displaying PGP NetShare-protected shared folders to avoid listing duplicate shares. [14479]
  • Resolved the issues occurring in rare instances where incorrect folders were being encrypted with PGP NetShare when folders were deleted and then recreated using the folders with the same name. [20793]

PGP Portable

  • Disks protected with PGP WDE can now be converted to PGP Portable Disks using the PGP Portable menu options. The creation of the PGP Portable Disk still requires the removable drive to be decrypted first but decryption is now performed automatically. [23980]

PGP Virtual Disk

  • Users with expired or revoked keys can mount PGP Virtual Disks but cannot create one. [14045, 14046]
  • When creating dynamic (resizable) PGP Virtual Disks on Windows systems, the Capacity field in the disk properties in PGP Desktop now correctly displays the maximum size of the disk. [9814]
  • When creating PGP Virtual disks on the root of the C drive on Windows Vista systems, PGP Desktop no longer displays the "PGP Desktop has stopped working" message. [20489]
  • General user interface improvements have been made when creating PGP Virtual Disks using PGP Desktop for Windows. [21566]
  • PGP Desktop for Windows now correctly references encryption subkeys so that PGP Virtual Disks can be opened using smart card-based bundle keys reliably. [22747]

PGP Whole Disk Encryption

  • Improvements have been made to PGP WDE on Mac OS X. [18186]
  • When using PGP WDE in a multi user environment, secondary users are properly associated to WDRTs regardless of the PGP Universal Server option to automatically encrypt drives. [12182]
  • When migrating from standalone to managed, the WDRT is correctly associated to the user and system regardless of the PGP Universal Server setting to automatically encrypt drives. [12183]
  • Drives that are not in a RAID array can now be encrypted regardless if a RAID array is present. [12865]
  • WDE encrypted USB thumb drives now retain the volume name in Windows Explorer. [13643]
  • Improvements made to PGP WDE so that users are prompted for authentication the USB device is inserted. [14843]
  • If you are using PGP WDE in Single Sign On mode, changes to your Windows domain password are will not be accepted by PGP WDE if the Windows domain rejects that password change. [15685]
  • PGP Desktop for Windows is now compatible with the Microsoft Windows backup utility within Windows Vista. [15297]
  • On PGP Desktop for Mac OS X, you can now encrypt your disk with keys immediately after the keys are created. [17648]

  • Resolved upgrade issues by now preventing users from launching PGP Desktop for Windows executables prior to rebooting after the upgrade files have been installed. You must reboot your system after you install an upgrade package in order for PGP Desktop to be upgraded completely. [18362]

  • The Aladdin eToken PRO USB Key 32K in FIPS mode is now compatible with PGP BootGuard on Windows systems. [18956]
