Problem
Exchange Granular (GRT) Restore from Tape hangs on Staging after byte count stops. The byte count amount is the full size of the information store. The job will remain in Staging state until a manual cancel is done. This can be confirmed by waiting at least 15 minutes. When the job is canceled, the restore continues and restores the selected GRT items.
Environment
Granular (GRT) Restore job of Exchange data that must Stage to disk.
Example: Restore of individual email content of an Exchange backup to tape. Restore must Stage to a local disk of the Backup Exec server.
Solution
This issue has been resolved in Backup Exec 2010 R2 with Hotfix 148347
