Solution

FileStore uses the DFS feature within cifs, check that the cifs client has the  feature enabled. This can be done by looking at the following registry key is set to zero.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Mup\DisableDFS

Check the windows client does not require use of digital signatures:

On the windows client start the 'Group Policy Object Editor, by running 'gpedit.msc'. Navigate to

"Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options"

Ensure the following is set:

Microsoft network client: Digitally sign communications (always) Security Setting: disabled

Alternatively, check the following registry key is set to zero:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanworkstation\Parameters\Requiresecuritysignature

A reboot of the client will be required if either DFS or digital signature settings are changed.
