A message appears to be missing from the Spam Quarantine

Issue



Message Audit Logs for a message, that has been deleted by an admin, does not indicate the fact that it has been deleted by an admin.


Cause



This issue can occur if you make changes to Log retention setting without manually restarting the Control Center service.


Solution



This issue has been addressed in Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) version 10.0.0.  

Workaround for earlier versions

To avoid this issue, whenever you make changes to Log retention setting ("Days to store log data before deleting:" option for Message Audit Logs on Administration > Logs page), please make sure to restart the Control Center from CLI (Command Line Interface) using the following command:

service controlcenter restart
