Problem
Attempting a one-time backup to a locally attached USB drive using the Symantec Recovery Disk does not detect the local system drive.
Cause
In some cases, especially if mass-storage drivers are needed to be used, the locally attached USB drive obtains the same drive letter (i.e. C:\) as the source system drive preventing enumeration of the sysem volume or the system volume obtaining a drive letter other than C.
Solution
Disconnect all the USB drives prior to booting from the SRD, load any mass-storage drivers if needed, then connect the USB drive to perform the one-time backup.
