Problem
VERITAS Cluster Server Process Agent and VERITAS Technical Support
Solution
The VERITAS Cluster Server (VCS) Process Agent is a
very powerful feature. It allows users to create custom agents for use with
applications that do not have VCS Agents already created. The creation of such
agents are not supported by VERITAS Technical Support under the following
conditions:
1. The Process Agent is configured with scripts (such
as PERL or Shell).
2. The Process Agent is configured using batch
files.
3. The Process Agent calls a toolkit to process the
scripts.
If any of the above conditions are met, the agent is
considered custom and is handled by VERITAS Consulting. VERITAS Consulting can
be used to create Custom agents.
VERITAS Technical Support does, however, support the
Process Agent if the resource attributes are populated by simple alphanumeric
entries (no scripts or batch files) and executable files
(.exe).
